He lives with a roommate Taarmina, a young engineer student with a prosthetic arm. He wears heels because he's short and has been known to wear makeup. Everything is portrayed through a Seattle lens. And sentences like "the end of the quarter was nigh." There are more than two characters in this love affair - Seattle, where this takes place, is highlighted beautifully - the fitful weather, the beauty of the city, the multiple tea and coffee shops. The style is somewhat reminiscent of historicals. Her writing style is not for the faint of heart. Shame since I did really like it and wanted to see if there were other books. I did some searching around and don't see anything out there other than a distressing obituary for someone named Victory Jones. ![]() This is a new to me author and it appears to be her only book. Odd, quirky, slow and strangely beautiful. ![]()
